The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) was established in 2002 and is the nation's authority on sustainable buildings and communities. Our mission is to accelerate the transformation of Australia's built environment into one that is healthy, liveable, productive, resilient and sustainable. We work with industry and government to encourage policies and programs that support our mission. We also educate thousands of people each year on how to design and deliver sustainable outcomes for Australia's buildings and communities.

Your new opportunity

In this role you will provide technical expertise to assist in the understanding and development of rating tools, and provide support for internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver transformation of the built environment. 

You will also work on developing technical solutions which are challenging with regard to sustainability, but not with onerous administrative effort. They will be transformative and robust, as well as simple, clear and readily demonstrated.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney. 

Your new responsibilities

  • Providing technical expertise and support across Green Star rating tools
  • Assisting internal teams to develop greater understanding of the rating tools
  • Supporting our Technical Coordinators to answer complex queries from stakeholders focused on rating tool development
  • Contributing to the review and development of new rating tools and associated documents, guides and digital system
  • Working with our market engagement team to provide technical support for project registrations

Your skills and experience

  • At least 2 years sustainability experience and/or built environment experience ideally in the operation of sustainable buildings, communities or precincts. A background in design, construction or infrastructure will also be considered. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
