Leadership in Green Building Awards

The World Green Building Council’s Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards are a biennial program that recognises pioneering organisations, projects, and individuals driving the transition to sustainable and net zero built environments across the region. These awards showcase innovation, inspire market transformation, and highlight the critical role our industry plays in addressing climate change and improving quality of life.

The 2026 categories

  • Business Leadership: Developer: For organisations whose primary role is to initiate, develop and deliver real estate and built assets, recognising leadership across the development pipeline and portfolio. Download submission form
  • Business Leadership: Industry: For non-developer organisations across the wider value chain (architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, investors, occupiers, etc.) that enable and accelerate sustainable buildings. Download submission form
  • Project: Commercial — Existing Building: For commercial buildings operating for at least 3 years, recognising measurable retrofit uplift, sustained performance, and protection of long-term asset value. Download submission form
  • Project: Commercial — New Building: For new commercial buildings in operation for 12 months to 3 years, with third-party green certification, demonstrating leadership in sustainable design and in-use performance. Download submission form
  • Project: Residential — New Building: For new residential developments (12 months to 3 years in operation, third-party certified) that deliver sustainable, resilient and liveable outcomes for residents and communities. Download submission form
  • Project: Residential — Existing Building: For residential retrofits operating at least 3 years, showcasing before/after improvements in performance, comfort and a scalable pathway for upgrading existing housing stock. Download submission form
  • Project: Institutional (New & Existing): For institutional buildings (12+ months in operation, third-party certified) that demonstrate sustainable performance alongside continuity of essential services, user safety and public-sector replicability. Download submission form
  • Green Building Leadership Champion (Individual): For individuals whose personal leadership, influence and measurable outcomes have accelerated sustainable, resilient and equitable built environments across Asia Pacific. Download submission form

The awards are open to GBCA member companies and their green building projects of all sizes across the region. GBCA members must nominate directly through the Green Building Council of Australia.

 

Why should businesses or projects enter?

  • Raising their profile – Finalists and winners of the Awards will be profiled through WorldGBC’s global press work, social media and other communications activities.
  • Getting in front of the right people – Businesses and projects are judged by a group of renowned and highly influential figures in the green building industry.
  • Receiving recognition – The Awards are a chance to celebrate some of the most progressive businesses and projects in a hugely important region for the future of green building.
