As the impacts of the global pandemic continue to evolve we have taken action to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our staff while working hard to ensure we meet our business-as-usual commitments. We’ve outlined some of the ways that we are adapting to this new environment below.

As the impacts of the global pandemic continue to evolve we have taken action to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our staff, and help slow the rate of infections across the community. We are working hard to ensure we meet our business-as-usual commitments, while prioritising the health and wellbeing of our team and the broader community through early action.

Last month, we delivered our annual conference TRANSFORM 2020 online. Our reorientation of TRANSFORM was just a first step as we explore new mechanisms to support our members and broader industry through our engagement, communication and advocacy activities in this new environment. Your feedback as you navigate these challenges and identify new opportunities for support from us is most welcome, and we encourage you to email us with these at info@gbca.org.au as you think we can assist.

Our early adoption of agile and flexible work arrangements have helped ensure a smooth transition for the GBCA team. Nonetheless for all of us, the extent of change being experienced demands adaptability. Noting the importance of learning from each other, through our communications we look forward to sharing with you our own lessons learnt, and tips and tricks for managing in this new environment.

In parallel we will continue to monitor advice from relevant government authorities, and we will keep our members and associates updated as we adapt to this unprecedented challenge.

Despite these difficult and dynamic circumstances, and after an exceptionally turbulent summer, we believe it is essential that we maintain the urgency and commitment to action that will help drive the change we need. Your support is critical in this context and we thank our members and the broader industry for your continued commitment to a more sustainable built environment.

We’ve outlined some of the ways that we are adapting to this new environment below.
