The Wollongong City Council Administration Building has been on an incredible sustainability journey. The building, which is now 32 years old, has ramped up its Green Star commitments through recertification, jumping from a 5 Star to 6 Star Green Star – Performance rating.

Sustainability is a core goal for RMIT and as such the NAS project was designed to ensure that our campus is vibrant, resource efficient, accessible and innovative. RMIT is committed to developing buildings and facilities that are designed to meet high standards of energy and water efficiency, whilst reducing our carbon emissions and encouraging responsible behaviours.
Arup’s five floor fit out in Sydney’s CBD achieved a 6 Star Green Star Rating for interiors, the highest possible score. The project prioritized sustainability and the health of employees, with the fit out featuring lush green plants which were specially chosen to create a healthy environment, and outdoor air supplied to the building through an energy efficient ventilation system.
Located on the Frankston foreshore, the South East Water Headquarters fits seamlessly into its coastal surroundings. Designed with the objective to bring together staff that had previously been dispersed across three locations, the 5 Star Green Star certified building achieved just this through the creation of the dynamic and flexible workspace.
The fit out of the Yahoo7 office in Sydney looked to transform the company culture to become more connected and collaborative through an open plan flexible workspace. The focus on the long term performance of the fit out and the employees within the space informed much of the fit out’s design which sought to optimise sustainability, flexibility and the health of employees, and as a result it was the first project in New South Wales to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating for Interiors v1.1.
ALDI is leading the retail industry in green star uptake. Its Jandakot Distribution Centre is one of three recently certified Green Star projects and the first 5 Star Green Star industrial building in Western Australia.
The restoration of the heritage listed Old Perth Boys School successfully respects the buildings mid-19th century architecture, whilst reflecting its contemporary surroundings. A restoration of the building’s façade was followed by a green star rated internal fit out, which was designed with the aim of both enhancing the existing heritage features and creating a flexible space that was suitable for modern use.
