New resources for Green Star Buildings now available

How do we deliver future-ready buildings that are better for today and tomorrow?

Green Star Buildings, our rating tool for new buildings and major refurbishments, has been especially designed to help you do just that – deliver healthy, resilient, positive buildings that are better for today and tomorrow.

To help you learn more about the rating tool, we’re excited to share a brand-new set of resources. From factsheets for developers, investors, occupiers and leasing agents, to a business case, and a comparison between Design & As Built and Green Star Buildings, these new resources provide a comprehensive overview of Green Star Buildings and how it can help your next project.

Consultation for Green Star Communities v2 is closing soon

Since Green Building Day Melbourne on June 15, we have been busy gathering your feedback on the draft credits for the next version of Green Star Communities. Thank you to those who have submitted feedback, we are excited by the enthusiasm to engage, and contributions people are making.

We look forward to reviewing all feedback, ensuring we get a range of perspectives that can help us to finalise a tool that works well and can be embraced by industry.

We value your voice and encourage you to get involved in this important consultation.

By way of background, Green Star Communities aims to drive more sustainable outcomes at the precinct scale. It provides a clearer definition of a sustainable precinct and sets a pathway for climate positive precincts to be delivered over the next decade. The five key strategic elements driving the next version of the tool:

  • Establishes a new definition of sustainable precincts
  • Drives leading future-ready infrastructure
  • Exceeds Paris climate agreement carbon targets
  • Delivers value across multiple precinct typologies
  • Rewards outcomes through a flexible, ongoing certification process

Visit our webpage here to catch up on the draft credits, recordings of our public briefing sessions, and submit your feedback via the consultation page.

You can submit your feedback until 15 August, so get in quick, and let your voice be heard!

If you have any questions please contact us at consultation@gbca.org.au and we’d be happy to help.
