Ingenia marks milestone with 40 certified Green Star homes

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has congratulated Ingenia Communities on achieving Green Star Homes certification for 40 homes at Ingenia Lifestyle Springside in Beveridge, Victoria, marking an important milestone in the delivery of more sustainable, comfortable homes for Australians.

The Green Star Homes certifications recognise homes that have been planned with energy efficiency, thermal comfort and healthier living in mind, helping residents benefit from lower energy bills and better day-to-day comfort.

GBCA Chief Executive Officer Davina Rooney said the milestone reflects growing momentum in the market for homes that are designed to perform well from day one.

“More Australians are looking for homes that are comfortable to live in and affordable to run, not just on move-in day but for years to come,” Ms Rooney said.

“Achieving 40 Green Star Homes certifications shows a real commitment to designing homes that support everyday living, with better insulation, smarter energy use and healthier indoor environments.”

The homes sit within a broader Beveridge development which also holds a Green Star Communities certification, recognising environmental sustainability features at the precinct level.

Ms Rooney said looking at homes in the context of a well-planned community helps highlight how thoughtful design can support comfort inside the home while contributing to more environmentally sustainable neighbourhoods.

Michael Rabey, Executive General Manager, Acquisitions and Development at Ingenia Communities said the achievement had provided insight into the delivery of Green Star Homes at scale.

“This was a great opportunity for our team to work with industry partners, including the GBCA, to build their understanding of the Green Star Homes tool and key sustainability outcomes.”

Located in Beveridge, Victoria, the homes form part of a growing community designed to support residents with efficient homes and shared spaces that prioritise quality of life.

Green Star Homes is Australia’s national rating tool for more sustainable homes.
