GBCA welcomes Josh McHutchison to its Board

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh McHutchison to its Board.

Mr McHutchison is currently Lendlease’s Managing Director, Investment Management, Australia and has been instrumental in delivering some of the company’s most significant environmental, social and governance performance as outlined in the 2018 GRESB annual real estate assessment.

GBCA Chief Executive Officer, Romilly Madew has welcomed the Board’s latest addition.

“Our organisation has always been led by those who are champions of sustainability in their field and Josh McHutchison is a shining example of this.

“We welcome him to our Board and look forward to his input on how we can drive our strategic priorities forward.”

Romilly also thanked outgoing Board Director Kylie Rampa, Chief Executive Officer Property Australia, Lendlease for her time with the board following her retirement from the position in November 2018.

Mr McHutchison says he is looking forward to sharing his insights and experiences with the organisation.

“Through its Green Star rating system, the GBCA has transformed Australia’s built environment into one that is sustainable, modern and collaborative.

“In my role at Lendlease, I am proud to have collaborated  on some of the world’s leading sustainability projects, including International Towers at Barangaroo, Sydney.

“I look forward to taking on this new opportunity as a GBCA Board member, to learn how we can keep this momentum going and position Australia as a global proponent of green building.”
Mr McHutchison’s position on the GBCA Board took effect on 1 December 2018. 

Other changes to the GBCA Board structure include the appointment of Susan Lloyd –Hurwitz, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Mirvac to the role of joint deputy chair. 

Sue joins existing co-deputy Chair John Flecker in this role, which had previously been held by outgoing board member Kylie Rampa.
