Australian nominees shortlisted for WGBC Asia Pacific Awards

19 Aug 2016

Three Australian nominations have been shortlisted for the World Green Building Council (WGBC) Asia Pacific Awards, to be announced at the Green Building Congress in India, 6-8 October 2016.

Cundall impressed the local judging panel with its entry in the Business Leadership in Sustainability category – showcasing the innovative ways it's been encouraging staff, clients and the wider industry to think about sustainability and to push boundaries in sustainable design.

Cundall Partner responsible for Corporate Sustainability, David Clark explained that he and his colleagues were very pleased to have been selected to move forward to the next stage.

As the first consultancy in the world to be endorsed as a One Planet Company by environmental charity, BioRegional, Cundall believes that it must create a paradigm shift in its approach to sustainability to remain a sustainability design leader.

Each year Cundall publishes its One Planet Company Report. This tracks a wide range of KPIs for each of the offices and is reviewed against our targets – to celebrate achievements and to plan improvements.

Also successful in progressing to the next round of judging were submissions from Floth for 69 Robertson Street Brisbane and from Hassell for the University of Queensand's Global Change Institute.

Both were entrants in the Leadership in Sustainability Design & Performance. 69 Robertson Street was recognised under commercial criteria, and the Global Change Institute under institutional leadership in sustainability design and performance.

We look forward to the announcement of the WGBC's shortlist in September in the lead up to the final winners being announced at Green Building Congress in October.
