Davina Rooney joined Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) in June 2019 as Chief Executive Officer. Davina came to GBCA from Stockland where she was General Manager, Sustainability and Corporate Procurement at Stockland. Davina has a variety of sustainability experience, from environmental projects, not-for profit boards and overseas community development work - spending 8 months working in the Indian Himalayas on the construction of a school which won multiple international awards. Davina is an engineer and has extensive experience in sustainability and building consulting. Davina has been recognised by industry awards including NAWIC NSW Sustainability 2016, PCA 2014 Future Leaders Award and Sydney University Engineering Young Alumni Award.
As the Chief Impact Officer at GBCA, Jorge ensures GBCA’s strategic priorities, partnerships, products and services, including Green Star, accelerate the transformation of Australia’s built environment – delivering healthier, more resilient, and positive places for people and nature.
He chairs WorldGBC’s Global Commitment for Net Zero Carbon Buildings Taskforce and WorldGBC’s ESG working group. He is also a member of Climate Bond Initiative’s Low Carbon Buildings Technical Working Group, GRESB’s Real Estate Standards Committee, Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor’s Global Industry Committee, and the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative’s Technical Working Group. He is also a Board Director at GreenFleet.
His expertise includes sustainable buildings and communities, life cycle assessment, adaptation and resilience, social equity, economic resilience, financing of green outcomes, and health and wellbeing in the built environment.
Elham is responsible for the strategic delivery of Green Star rating tools through the provision of certification services for all rating tools. The provision of these services is done in accordance with an accredited Quality Management System (QMS) and delivered to a high quality to deliver consistent best practice outcomes which are independently verified. Elham is managing the transformation of the certification process into an online delivery service, including revamping our QMS process to suit the new solution.
Elham has over 20 years’ of experience leading the development and implementation of sustainability strategies in multiple sectors including not-for-profit, government and the private sector.
Jeff is responsible for ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement across the GBCA's broad member base of members across the country. This includes raising awareness of GBCA activities and working with members to engage most effectively in this. He also sits on the World Green Building Council's Asia Pacific Network Advisory Board.
Stephen is responsible for our financial management and general operations – from preparing the annual budget through to completion of the organisation's annual financial report.
Stephen has more than 15 years' experience working within the commercial property sector in Australia having previously been with one of Australia's leading project management firms.
Andrew is responsible for leading the strategic direction of GBCA’s policy and research functions. He is passionate about working collaboratively to improve sustainability outcomes for people and nature.
Andrew is a strategy and engagement professional, policy specialist and lawyer with over a decade of experience in the areas of environmental sustainability, climate change and energy. Possessing a deep, practical understanding of the Australian political landscape, as well as the processes and decision-making frameworks of government. Experienced at working with top political decision makers, business leaders, industry peak bodies, advocacy groups and local communities to drive change.
Andrew has worked in the private sector as a corporate lawyer, in state and federal government agencies on energy and climate change policy and served as senior adviser to a Victorian Premier and to a Minister for the Environment.
Lucy is responsible for leading the strategic direction of our events, professional development, corporate partnerships and industry engagement through our marketing and communications activities.
Lucy has over 18 years of experience running various business units within Informa group, in Australia and the UK. In this time she was responsible for the strategic focus and commercial performance of each business unit including product development of a wide range of events and courses globally.
Lynne supports our governance and legal responsibilities. Her role includes ensuring the conduct of board meetings and compliance with the our Constitution and statutory requirements.
Lynne has a BA LLM from the University of Sydney and worked at the commercial law firm, Allens for 20 years. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
