Jeff is responsible for ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement across the GBCA's broad member base of members across the country. This includes raising awareness of GBCA activities and working with members to engage most effectively in this. He also sits on the World Green Building Council's Asia Pacific Network Advisory Board.

9:00am Opening remarks from the chairperson

Davina Rooney joined Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) in June 2019 as Chief Executive Officer. Davina came to GBCA from Stockland where she was General Manager, Sustainability and Corporate Procurement at Stockland. Davina has a variety of sustainability experience, from environmental projects, not-for profit boards and overseas community development work - spending 8 months working in the Indian Himalayas on the construction of a school which won multiple international awards. Davina is an engineer and has extensive experience in sustainability and building consulting. Davina has been recognised by industry awards including NAWIC NSW Sustainability 2016, PCA 2014 Future Leaders Award and Sydney University Engineering Young Alumni Award.

Jorge ensures that our strategic priorities, partnerships, and product and services, including Green Star, accelerate the transformation of Australia’s built environment – delivering more livable, resilient, and sustainable places for everyone. Jorge has an architecture degree from the University of Monterrey in Mexico and a Masters in Design Science from the University of Sydney.

11:10am GBCA Update

Andrew is the National Sustainability Manager at Frasers Property Industrial (FPI). With a background in Photovoltaic and Solar Energy Engineering and having worked as a sustainability consultant, he now drives the integration of sustainability initiatives within warehouse development projects at FPI. He focuses on outcomes that maximises benefit to customers whilst delivering resilient assets. FPI has certified over 40 industrial buildings with Green Star and their Green Star Performance portfolio covers over 1.5 million square meters of industrial area.

Ann joined Lendlease in 1992 and has worked in a variety of project and people management roles. She established our first suite of sustainability metrics, guided by the Global Reporting Initiative framework, and is passionate about nurturing a culture that supports a consistent approach to sustainability excellence across all aspects of our business. Ann chaired the award-winning Miller’s Point Youth and Employment Partnership, was the 2003 National Association of Women in Construction NSW Vision Award winner, the 2005 National Crystal Vision Award runner-up and the 2011 Contribution to Sustainability winner. She is currently a member of the sustainability working party for the Australian Contractor’s Association.

A renowned sustainability and materials expert, author, Exemplar Global Lead Auditor and Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, David Baggs has led Global GreenTag International to become one of the most advanced product certification services and marks in the world for the sustainable building and design industries. As Program Director of the Global GreenTagCertTM Product Certification Program, David is currently pioneering within the certification field the development of a new NaturePositive+ Products Standard to benefit green building projects that are extending the boundaries of circularity design. Voted one of Australia’s Top 50 Green Leaders and Top 100 Sustainability Leaders Globally, David is also a multi-award winning, green building architect, a GBCA Materials Expert Panel member and Past President of the Australian LCA Society.
