Consultation on SBTI’s guidance for buildings portfolios in the property sector

Tim Wheeler is the National Policy Manager – Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs at the Property Council of Australia. He is a senior built environment sustainability leader with a passion for developing and advocating for ambitious public policy to support the transition to net zero emissions. His career includes working for the Federal Government, the International Energy Agency, Green Building Council of Australia, and peak industry bodies. He holds a Bachelor of Science from UNSW, a Master

Magali is the Head of Market Development at NABERS. She is a skilled professional with over 15 years of experience in Sustainability, Engineering, Project Management and Climate Change. Her work at NABERS is focused on building partnerships to influence the uptake of NABERS ratings. Her role covers a vast portfolio of project teams dedicated to supporting customers in their sustainability journey. This encompasses energy, water and waste efficiency as well as indoor environment quality across several different types of building asset types.

Ayla is a Technical Buildings Manager for the SBTi, working for We Mean Business Coalition. Within the SBTI, Ayla is responsible for developing emission reduction pathways and target setting methods for the buildings sector. Prior to joining the SBTi, Ayla has gained experience in different sustainability roles in real estate and construction businesses as well as in sustainability consulting. Ayla holds a BEng in Environmental Technology and MSc in Environmental Sciences.

Karl leads the work to develop emission reduction pathways for steel, cement and buildings. His previous experience includes cement industry CO2 strategy and public affairs, emissions trading, GHG accounting & life-cycle assessment and sustainable construction. He is a mechanical engineer with a postgraduate certification in sustainability from the University of Cambridge.
