The GBCA is calling for industry leaders to join the Homes Advisory Committee

What is the Homes Advisory Committee?

The development of a standard for homes (the standard) is a focus area of the GBCA’s strategic plan 2018-2021.

The Homes Advisory Committee has been established to assist and advise the GBCA Executive and GBCA Board on all matters relating to the development of the standard.

The Committee is responsible for ensuring that the GBCA develops a standard that will drive sustainable outcomes in the housing sector, enable market transformation and be valued by the housing industry.

The GBCA Board has appointed GBCA director Andrew Whitson to chair the Homes Advisory Committee.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for representatives from the following sectors:

  • home and volume builders
  • developers
  • banks, finance and insurers
  • product manufacturers; supply chain
  • government stakeholders
  • social, community and defence housing

It is expected that committee members will hold senior and influential positions and have one or more of the following attributes:

  • influence and networks in the residential sector
  • an understanding of how to drive sustainability within the residential sector supply chain
  • knowledge of standards, rating systems and verification methods and the role they play in driving change towards a more sustainable built environment
  • understanding of the drivers for investment in and consumer demand for sustainable housing
  • experience in governance

How to make a nomination

If you are interested in serving on the Homes Advisory Committee, please email nominations@gbca.org.au including:

  • a copy of your CV or link to your LinkedIn profile
  • a brief statement demonstrating compliance with the selection criteria set out in paragraph 3 of the Homes Advisory Committee Charter.                     

Appointments to the committee must be approved by the Board’s Nomination & Governance Committee. Nominations will close on the 31st December 2018. We expect to confirm appointments in early 2019.
