Your new opportunity

Green Star is a framework for healthy, resilient and positive places for people and nature, driving the built environment towards decarbonisation by 2040.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Responsible Products, this is a newly created role in which you will provide support in developing, rolling out and maintaining the Responsible Products Framework (the Framework) and Directory which are dedicated to improving the sustainability of products and materials used for the built environment. 

As we rollout this new Framework and Directory, you will work with relevant organisations in order to support the industry in identifying products that are in line with requirements to achieve Green Star Certification. 

Using your effective communication skills, you will also collaborate with our internal teams to review and respond to questions from Green Star project teams and product manufacturers.

This is a full-time role based in our Sydney headquarters. 

Your new responsibilities 

  • Work with the Senior Manager to deliver an online product Directory and associated services to drive transformation in the supply chain for the built environment
  • Utilise your familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform, PowerBI, Canvas Applications or similar, to develop, and maintain the online Directory
  • Work with our internal teams to help them understand our new Framework and Directory
  • Assist the Senior Manager with programming and delivering the Framework and Directory to industry
  • Facilitate or participate in workshops and meetings with external stakeholders to build knowledge and demand for Responsible Products
  • Provide technical support across Green Star rating tools in relation to the use of Responsible Products to assist organisations to achieve Green Start certification
  • Review and respond to requests from key stakeholders, including product certification schemes and key product manufacturers.


  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline related to one of the following areas: sustainable built environment, engineering, planning, architecture, environmental sciences, building products or similar.

Your skills and experience 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ sustainability and/or built environment experience in any of the following areas:
    • Design, or Construction of buildings or infrastructure
    • Operation of sustainable buildings, communities or precincts
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform, PowerBI, Canvas Applications or similar
  • Experience in assisting with the development, maintenance, or application of online solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Strong understanding of the built environment or products, materials or procurement processes
  • Proven experience in working with multi disciplinary teams.
