Your new opportunity

This is an exciting role to join an organisation that is having a significant impact on mitigating climate change by transforming the built environment through the uptake of our Green Star rating tools. The GBCA is undertaking a significant digital transformation over the next 18-24 months and moving all its business applications to the Microsoft Platform. To support this transformation the GBCA is looking for a Microsoft Power Platform developer to join our team with a focus on the digitisation of our Green Star rating tools within the Power Platform. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) the role will partner with the senior leaders within the Green Star and Market Transformation teams to set the direction for the development of systems and applications with the Microsoft Power Platform for our Green Star rating tools. The role will provide support and technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are designed and implemented to meet business requirements.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney. Whilst initially it will be an 18-month contract, there is the possibility to become permanent.

Your new responsibilities

  • Responsible for being a SME within the Power Platform and working with the Green Star team to ensure projects are appropriately scoped, designed and implemented to meet business requirements and that they are scalable, secure and maintainable. 
  • Seeking out future business needs for IT applications to meet business operational and strategic objectives.
  • Identify how systems and applications can enhance and support strategic objectives.
  • Managing of integrations with other parts of the business and applications as required.
  • Working with and supporting our external developers in the delivery of our application roadmap for Green Star.
  • Development of the Green Star Model Driven Application which will be used by the Green Star Operations team in their day to day job in managing the Green Star registration, submission and assessment process. 
  • Set-up and embedding of digital development and maintenance processes for Green Star digital applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents and project plans as appropriate.
  • Ensure all development work is thoroughly tested before deployed to production.
  • Troubleshooting of bugs and issues within the platform.

Your skills and experience

  • Experience (technical + implementation) working within Microsoft Power Platform, for example PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate and Logic Apps.
  • Experience working with a non-technical team in the appropriate use of the Power Platform technology.
  • Strong understanding of Model Driven Apps and Canvas Apps.
  • Strong integrations skills with the Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, SharePoint and Dataverse.
  • Proven experience in working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and strategic thinking and/ or planning skills.
  • Experience with WordPress desirable. 
  • Some knowledge in other major programming languages such as .NET, XML etc.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within Dynamics and Power Platform
