About the role

Reporting to the Head of Industry Development, you will research, develop, and deliver a program of GBCA events nationally.  The program of events are to be strategically aligned with business objectives and in keeping with market requirements and industry demands.  You will be responsible for managing the Events and Professional Development coordinator team to ensure event programs are delivered in a timely, efficient and innovative manner to ensure a quality outcome is achieved for all GBCA events.

You will also be responsible for developing the program for the GBCA’s annual Green Cities conference in collaboration with the Project Control Group, GBCA staff and other stakeholders.

This is a full-time role with the option of flexible working arrangements based in our Sydney Office.  We have recently relocated our office to an exciting business community in Sydney’s newest 6 Star Green Star Communities rated precinct, Barangaroo.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, coordinate and monitor our events and professional development course calendars;
  • Create event programs including topics and speakers for all events;
  • Identify and recommend venues, including price negotiation;
  • Oversee and contribute to pre-event logistics;
  • Responsible for the social committee ensuring delivery on GBCA internal events;
  • Oversee Events and Professional Development Coordinators to ensure delivery on GBCA internal events;
  • Delivery of our annual Green Cities Conference including research and analysis and program design;
  • Ensure management of Green Cities Conference speakers;
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure appropriate communications for our events;
  • Management of Events and Professional Development Coordinators.

Required skills and experience

  • 5 - 8 years event management experience
  • Experience in program design for conferences or similar events
  • The ability to translate high level concepts into events and activities
  • Experience in managing a team and managing budgets
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proven track record meeting KPIs and service delivery standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management
